Scope and Conditions of Our Monitoring Services

Before you begin the setup process, review the definitions and limitations that apply to our soil monitoring systems. These clarifications help avoid misunderstandings about what is included, what the data means, and where your responsibility starts.

What does "automated soil monitoring" cover in our service?

Our service covers the installation of soil sensors, the transmission of readings to your dashboard, and the calibration checks we run during the first growing cycle. It does not include irrigation hardware, fertilizer application equipment, or any physical modifications to your plantation infrastructure. Those remain under your control and your maintenance schedule.

How is "optimal growth" defined in our reports?

We define optimal growth as the range of soil moisture, temperature, and nutrient levels that match the reference values for your specific crop type and local soil composition. These reference values come from agronomic data for Malaysian conditions, not from generic international averages. If your crop requires a different range, you must inform us before the first calibration.

What data do we collect, and who owns it?

We collect soil moisture, soil temperature, electrical conductivity, and ambient humidity readings from the sensors installed on your site. The raw data belongs to your company. We retain anonymized aggregates for improving our calibration models, but we do not share your field-level data with third parties without written consent.

What are the practical limits of sensor accuracy in tropical fields?

Sensor readings can drift by up to 3 percent in the first two weeks after installation, especially in heavy clay soils common in parts of Selangor. We compensate for this with a field calibration pass within 14 days of installation. After that, we expect accuracy within the tolerance stated in your service agreement. Extreme rainfall events may temporarily affect readings until the soil drains.

What is not included in the standard setup process?

The standard setup does not include trenching, conduit installation, or power supply wiring beyond the sensor node itself. It also does not cover internet connectivity at the field site; you must provide a stable connection for data transmission. If your site lacks coverage, we can recommend a gateway option, but the hardware and its installation are billed separately.

How do we handle warranty and long-term maintenance?

Sensors carry a 12-month warranty against manufacturing defects. After the warranty period, we offer a maintenance package that includes annual recalibration, battery replacement, and firmware updates. Damage caused by pests, flooding, or mechanical interference during field operations is not covered under warranty and will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.

Field deployment timeline

From soil survey to live monitoring

A phased rollout that keeps your plantation running while we install, calibrate, and verify each sensor cluster. Every stage ends with a written report and a clear handoff to your agronomy team.

Week 1-2: Site survey and sensor placement plan

We map your blocks, identify soil texture zones, and mark where each probe cluster will sit. You receive a placement diagram with coordinates and access notes before any equipment enters the field.

Week 3-4: Physical installation and wiring

Our crew mounts the sensor nodes, lays the data cable, and sets up the gateway unit near your existing power source. Each node is tested on site for signal strength and moisture response before we move to the next block.

Week 5: Calibration against local soil samples

We take reference samples from each zone and adjust the sensor curves to match your actual clay and organic matter content. This step removes the guesswork that comes with factory-default settings.

Week 6: Baseline data collection and dashboard handover

For seven days the system logs readings without any irrigation changes. You get a baseline report, login access to the dashboard, and a one-hour training session for your field supervisors.

Month 2 onward: Monthly review and threshold tuning

We revisit the alert thresholds as the season progresses, comparing sensor data with your actual yield records. Adjustments are documented in a short monthly note so your team always knows what changed and why.
